We mentioned before that our work and knowledge is backed by almost 40 years of experience, all of which comes back to the man behind the name, Steven Kohl, who started this company with a special few purposes in mind: To create something he can proudly leave for his family, to make enough money to do good works for our St. Louis community, and to go the extra mile for his customers as well as his employees. These few important things make up the core of who we are and what we do, and why all of us here have the opportunity and desire to go above and beyond just being another construction team.

We all have experienced individuals in the workplace who just don't care about the people they work with, work for, or the customers, people who just want to get the job done and go home; and as you can imagine, 40 years in the construction industry has proven no different. Time and time again, over the years, we have come across unsavory attitudes and jobs not-so-well done. This is ultimately what laid the groundwork for what would become Kohl's Construction. Steve wanted what we would imagine most of us would want: a place to work where we can feel safe, respected, appreciated, and where we can be proud of our work. We have done, and strive to continue to do, something really special: to have a team of people who can get the work done with the best of'em, while never forgetting the importance of how we treat people and making sure that the absolute best job possible is done every single time we enter a job site. That's why we'll take the time to help you design your project, gather permits, and give you all the necessary information to make good decisions: because it's about so much more for us than making money, we genuinely want to help you and to be a better company than any of us ever had the opportunity to work for. 

We hope to eventually be able to begin doing projects for local charities and help design facilities that could benefit the local community.
This idea has been a long-standing goal for Kohl's and given the opportunity, we would be proud to be able to say that is a part of what we do. All these things together culminate into the most important part of what Kohl's is about, and that's the "creating something for his family to be proud of", and I believe we've done just that.

I know we've said the word "proud" a lot in this little excerpt, but it's crucial for us to believe in what we're doing or else, why are we doing it?
